Jeong, worked as a professor at North Carolina A&T State University. Jeong studied at Walter Hines Page High School, where he took part in the Quiz Bowl team, played violin in the orchestra, and was elected to student council. He also played football in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades where he won the state 4a championship, and he earned him Greensboro’s Youth of the Year award. He graduated from the Duke University in 1990 and obtained his M.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1995.
