    Morissette Amon is one of the most famous and trending Singer-Songwriter in the whole world right now. Morissette Amon was born on June 2, 1996, in Minglanilla, Cebu, Philippines. She was born Johanne Morissette Daug Amon, but best known as Morissette Amon.

    Family, Childhood, and Education

    Her father’s name is Amay Amon and her mother’s name is Analie Daug. Her father is a rock musician. She has one sibling, Jeremy Mattheu Amon. Her mother and her brother moved and lived in Manila for three years now to get closer to opportunities and in order to pursue her dream. At 16, she is currently the family breadwinner being able to pay for the rent, the bills, and sending her brother to school. Though she had been away from school, the young Cebuana do not regret taking a bullet for the family. Other than actively pursuing her dream of becoming a great singer by auditioning to various shows.

    She studied at Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Minglanilla, Cebu. She also studied at the Asian College of Technology.


    She first rose to prominence when she finished runner-up on TV5’s Star Factor at the age of 14. On October 1, 2013, Amon confirmed her departure from TV5 and that Kapitan Awesome would mark her last project with the network. In 2012, Amon made her Broadway debut in the Repertory Philippines production of Disney’s Camp Rock.

    She recently competed on the first season of ABS-CBN’s The Voice of the Philippines, where became part of singer Sarah Geronimo’s team. More than the similar looks, Morissette and her coach Sarah G. have more in common than the eyes can see. Both coach and artist discovered her talents at an early age. Both competed in various singing competitions, in fact, Morissette once faced the young Sarah G. in another televised competition. During the Blind Auditions, Amon impressed Geronimo with her rendition of the song “Love on Top” and became part of her team. For the third live show, Amon went head to head with former South Border member Maki Ricafort. Geronimo picked Amon over Ricafort and her score was added to the public votes, giving Amon a total of 110.41 points. Morissette also won in the public vote, garnering 50.41%, allowing her to advance to the next round of the competition. During the semi-finals, she eventually lost out to Klarisse De Guzman who went on to represent Team Sarah at the grand-finals and finish runner-up behind eventual winner Mitoy Yonting. Starting from January 5, 2014, Amon began making recurring appearances on ABS-CBN’s ASAP. She went on to record the theme song for the drama series Moon of Desire. The self-titled original song was composed by Trina Bellamide.

    In March 2015, Star Records released her first studio album, the self-titled album, Morissette. The carrier single, “Di Mapaliwanag” was used as a theme song for the Koreanovela, My Lovely Girl on Kapamilya ABS CBN, and won as Asianovela Themesong of the Year (2015). The album was launched at Shangri-La Plaza EDSA on April 12, 2015, and eventually reached platinum status. In mid-2015, she was tapped to be one of the main casts in Chuva Choo Choo – Mr. Kupido Musicale featuring the songs of Mr. Vehnee Saturno. She played Darla, who along with her sister Dina (played by Joanna Ampil of Miss Saigon fame) are talented amateur singers hoping to break into the entertainment business.

    In December 2015, she performed a mini-concert at the 26th St. Bistro, Coffee Bean, and Tea Leaf produced by Stages Sessions. Singing to acoustic accompaniment, she covered several artists such as Jessie J, Rihanna, and Nina. Morissette has often been referred to as “Asia’s Phoenix” since her performance at the 14th Asia Song Festival in Busan, South Korea on September 24, 2017, where she represented the Philippines. She returned to the same festival to represent the Philippines in the succeeding 15th Asia Song Festival in Busan on October 3, 2018. In February 2018, Morissette had her biggest concert to date which was called “Made”. The highlight of the concert was the introduction of her idol, Regine Velasquez, who joined her for the duet of Morissette hit “Akin Ka Na Lang” and Morissette couldn’t hold her tears back.
