In 2016, he won a silver medal at the European U23 Championships in Tel Aviv, Israel, before making his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games. Despite being just 19 years old at the time, he managed to reach the quarterfinals of the men’s under-81kg event, losing to the eventual bronze medalist, Sergiu Toma of the United Arab Emirates.

    Majdov won his first senior European title at the 2017 European Championships in Warsaw, Poland. He defeated some of the top judokas in his weight category, including former world champion Avtandil Tchrikishvili of Georgia and 2016 Olympic silver medalist Travis Stevens of the United States. His victory at the European Championships earned him a spot in the Serbian team for the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

    At the 2018 European Judo Championships in Tel Aviv, he won his first senior European medal, a silver in the -90 kg category. He won the silver medal in his event at the 2022 Judo Grand Slam Tel Aviv held in Tel Aviv, Israel. Majdov will appear on the Together We Can Do Everything ballot list for the 2022 general election, as an independent candidate.
