    Samkelo Radebe represented South Africa at the International Paralympic Committee Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France, where he finished fourth in the T45 200m event, in 2013. The following year, he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, where he was a member of the South African team that finished fifth in the T42-46 4x100m relay. His big breakthrough came in 2016 when he qualified for the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There, he competed in the T45 100m event and finished fourth in the final, narrowly missing out on a medal. Despite the disappointment of missing out on a podium finish, Radebe’s performance earned him widespread recognition and admiration for his perseverance and dedication.

    In the years since Rio, Radebe has continued to represent South Africa at international competitions, including the World Para Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games. In 2018, he won the T46 100m event at the African Para Athletics Championships in Nigeria, setting a new championship record in the process.
