Then next year, he had named correspondent and the network soon moved him to its Southwest Bureau in Dallas until 1983. Then he had landed a job as a foreign correspondent at the CBS London bureau in 1984. Through this work, he got the opportunity to travel Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Then he was brought back by CBS News to the United States to become a principal correspondent on a news magazine show called West 57th in 1986. Subsequently, he had become the first American journalist to be given extensive access and his story won an Emmy in 1990. In the year 1997, he had interviewed a prominent actor Clint Eastwood about how many children he had. Likewise, in 2009 he had interviewed U.S. President Barack Obama and the prominent actor Hillary Clinton.
