Tobias Harris started playing basketball in 2011 and he is still active in it. He started playing basketball professionally after being selected by Charlotte Bobcats in the 2011 NBA draft. He was immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on the same draft night. On 10 December 2011, he signed a rookie contract with the Bucks and debuted on 7 January 2012, in a match against Los Angeles Clippers.
On 24 October 2012, Buck extended his contract for the 2013-14 season but he was traded to Orlando Magic on 21 February 2013. Again, on 26 2013, Magic extended his contract for the 2014-15 season and he recorded 28 points and career-high 20 rebounds in a winning match against Los Angeles Lakers.
