In 1993, she formed a band Susan Tedeschi Band together with Tom Hambridge and Adrienne Hayes, and learned to play blues guitar in Boston from musician Tim Gearan in 1995. She became influenced to play guitar by artists like Buddy Guy, Johnny Watson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddie King, and Doyle Bramhall II. Tedeschi also released her first album Better Days in the same year. Then she released her solo album Just Won’t Burn in 1998 featuring young guitarist Sean Costello. In March 1998, she became the first artist to play Michele Clark’s very first Sunset Sessions at the Marriott in the US Virgin Islands. After onwards, she released several albums such as Wait for Me, Hope and Desire, Back to the River, and much more.
Tedeschi and Trucks formed a new group called Tedeschi Trucks Band in 2010. The group has released several albums like Revelator, Everybody’s Talkin’, Made Up Mind, and Let Me Get By. Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN’) was announced on May 7, 2021. The album is a one-time live recording of the Derek and The Dominos album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs performed in full with Trey Anastasio. Recorded on August 24, 2019, at the LOCKN’ Festival in Arrington, VA, the album was released on July 16, 2021.
