    Career

    Janssen started playing at the amateur branch of TOP, after which he became part of the youth academy of the professional branch of the club. Through a merger of the TOP and N.E.C. academies, he became part of the academy of NEC. From NEC, he transferred to Feyenoord youth teams, winning the U19s national title with Feyenoord in 2013. After being released by Feyenoord, he joined Eerste Divisie team Almere City in 2013. He made his debut for Almere on 3 August 2013 in a 3–2 home defeat against Volendam. After netting ten goals in the 2013–14 season, he reached 19 goals the following season. He scored 32 goals in 74 appearances in all competitions for Almere.

    In 2013, Vincent Janssen joined Almere City, signing his first-ever professional contract. On 3rd August he made his first-team debut against Volendam in a 3-2 home loss. Overall, he scored 29 goals and played 69 matches for FC Almere City. In 2015, Janssen arrived in AZ, signing a contract until 2019. On 30th July, he scored his first official goal in his debut match against Istanbul Basaksehir in a “UEFA Europa League qualifier.” In the 2015-16 season, he scored 2 goals and made overall 27 appearances for the club.

    On 12th July 2016, Janssen signed a 4-year contract to Premier League club side Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of $22.76 million. On 13th August, he made his Premier League debut for the club, playing against Everton. On 8th September 2017, he switched to Super Lig club Fenerbahce, signing a season-long loan deal. In the debut match against Alanyaspor, Janssen scored the 1st goal for the club in Turkey, in a 4-1 victory. So far, he has made 11 appearances and scored 2 goals for the club.

    Vincent Jansen has represented his nation in several tournaments at both the senior and junior levels. He was a part of the Netherland U15, U16, U18, U20, and U21 national teams. In March 2016, Janssen joined Netherlands national team for the first time for a friendly match against England and France. His first international goal came on 29th March in a friendly match against England with a 2-1 win. To date, he has earned 15 caps for his national side and has scored 7 international goals. He is a good friend of his national teammates Davy Propper, Kevin Strootman, and Joel Veltman.

    On 23 July 2019, Liga MX club Monterrey announced that they had signed Janssen on a permanent deal. His arrival drew comparisons to crosstown rival André-Pierre Gignac, Tigres’ main frontman who was able to help Tigres attain various titles. He made his official debut on 17 August coming in as a substitute for Rogelio Funes Mori in a 2-0 win against Toluca, and a week later he scored his first goal in Mexican football against Santos Laguna. He scored his first hat-trick for the club on 5 November in a Copa MX group stage match against Chiapas. He proved to be a vital part of the team as he helped Monterrey win the Apertura 2019 finals against América. Coming on as a substitute in the second leg, he managed to score in the eventual penalty shoot-out as Monterrey won their first title since 2010, his first league title.
